Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 325°F / 165°C.
- Prepare the brownie batter following the batter recipe instructions, then spread it evenly into a 9x9-inch baking pan or similar square pan.
- Beat the softened cream cheese with the sugar until the mixture is smooth.
- Mix the egg, vanilla extract, and salt into the cream cheese mixture until creamy.
- Fold the white chocolate chips into the cream cheese mixture.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture over the brownie batter and swirl the layers together with a knife using gentle figure-eight motions.
Baking
- Bake the brownies for 30-40 minutes, keeping the pan on the bottom oven rack for the first 20 minutes and transferring it to the top rack for the final 10-15 minutes, until a knife inserted in the center comes out mostly clean.
Serving
- Allow the pan to cool completely before slicing the brownies into squares.
- Serve the brownies at room temperature or chilled.
