  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet ingredients
  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
Mix-ins
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate morsels
  • 1 cup chopped toasted nuts

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F / 190°C.
  2. Beat the softened butter, white sugar, and brown sugar together in a mixing bowl until the mixture becomes light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the vanilla extract, then add the eggs individually, blending well after each one.
  4. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Add the dry mixture gradually to the butter mixture and stir just until combined.
  6. Gently mix in the semi-sweet chocolate morsels and chopped nuts until evenly spread throughout the dough.
Baking
  1. Place rounded tablespoons of cookie dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  2. Bake for 9-12 minutes, until the cookie edges are golden and the centers stay soft.
  3. Leave the cookies on the baking sheet for 2-3 minutes, then move them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

If the dough spreads too much in a warm kitchen, chill it for 15-30 minutes before baking.
