Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F / 175°C.
- Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl with a fork until mostly smooth.
- Combine the melted butter with the mashed bananas.
- Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, then stir until blended.
- Mix the baking soda and salt into the banana mixture.
- Fold in the all-purpose flour gently until the batter is combined and no dry flour remains.
- Stir the chocolate chips through the batter until evenly spread.
- Transfer the batter into a greased loaf pan.
Baking
- Bake the banana bread for 55-65 minutes, until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the loaf to cool before slicing and serving.
Notes
Use ripe bananas with brown spots for the best sweetness, and mix the flour gently to help maintain a tender loaf texture.
