Ingredients
  

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Preparation
  1. Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mix the mashed bananas with the melted butter in a bowl until combined.
  3. Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, then stir until evenly incorporated.
  4. Blend in the baking soda and salt.
  5. Add the flour and mix just until the batter comes together.
  6. Fold the chopped walnuts into the batter.
  7. Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and level the surface.
Baking
  1. Bake the loaf for 50 to 60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Leave the banana nut bread in the pan for 10 minutes, then move it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use very ripe bananas with brown spots for the best flavor, and mix gently after adding the flour to help keep the loaf tender.
