Preparation
- Blot the dill pickle slices thoroughly with paper towels until dry.
- Add the flour to one shallow bowl. Beat the egg in a second bowl, then mix the breadcrumbs, salt, and black pepper in a third bowl.
- Dredge each pickle slice in the flour, coat it with beaten egg, and press it into the seasoned breadcrumbs so all sides are evenly covered.
- Set the breaded pickle slices on a rack and rest them for 5 minutes to allow the coating to adhere.
Air Frying
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C), then lightly spray the basket with cooking spray.
- Arrange the breaded pickle slices in a single, nonoverlapping layer, cooking in batches if necessary. Lightly coat the tops with cooking spray.
- Air-fry for 8 to 10 minutes, turning once if needed, until the coating is crisp and golden brown.
Serving
- Serve warm with your preferred dipping sauce.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 2 to 3 minutes.
